James 2:18 James says we can’t “see” someone’s faith, but we can see their works. You can’t see faith without works, but you can demonstrate the reality of faith by works. Rachel did so much. But most of all she shined the light of Jesus in all that she did.
1 Peter 2:17 Peter says not to abuse the freedom we have in Christ. Honor Everyone. Love those that God places in your life. Humble yourself before God. Be respectful to those in leadership. Rachel was a leader. That surprised her! Possibly because she also had great respect for those who led her.
Romans 15:7 we should receive one another just as Christ received us — in the terms of pure grace, knowing yet bearing with our faults. She was an imperfect human, as we all are. Yet, she loved us all AS IF we were perfect. Shining Jesus!!
1 Peter 4:10 Peter explains that we ALL are gifted and we are to use those gifts to serve each other, as good stewards of those gifts given by God. Oh, the multitude of stories I've heard about the ways Rachel used her gifts! From song to wisdom to comfort to faith. She shared her gifts!
Philippians 2:4 Says we shouldn't be self focused, but other focused. She not only set high goals and set the bar high for herself, she encouraged others, carried them with her, and welcomed them with that beautiful smile!
Ephesians 4:32 is the call to follow Jesus. Be kind, tenderhearted and forgiving. She certainly had struggles, as we all do. But, she was patient and willing to trust in faith and through prayer that God would help and heal.
Micah 6:8 To view ourselves properly, is to see that we are nothing to boast of. To be humble will make you safe. To be humble will make you happy. To be humble will make music in your heart when you go to bed. To be humble here will make you wake up in the likeness of your Master by-and-by.” (paraphrased Spurgeon) Rachel did SO MUCH, with such JOY. This humility was her superpower!
